Common Questions and Answers
1. WHO PROVIDES THE INSURANCE?
The Lessee agrees to provide full protection for the boilers. Generally your boiler insurance policy and general liability insurance will automatically pick up this risk.
2. WHO PAYS THE FREIGHT?
This is the Lessee's financial responsibility, Carey Boiler Works will make the arrangements. Lessee pays the shipping charge from the storage location to the plant site and return.
3. WHO PAYS FOR THE LOADING AND UNLOADING IF NOT TRAILER MOUNTED?
The Lessee is responsible for these charges. Carey Boiler Works will arrange and invoice Lessee for loading and unloading at the storage location. Lessee must arrange and pay for the unloading and reloading at the plant site. Any crane charges are considered a loading or unloading charge.
4. WHAT ABOUT OIL TANKS?
The Lessor provides fuel oil storage facilities on all units up to and including 350 horsepower. Units supplied above 350 horsepower, a local oil company can usually supply oil storage tanks, sometimes at no charge.
5. WHO SUPPLIES THE MAIN GAS PRESSURE REGULATOR?
Regulated gas pressure must be supplied to the boiler by the Lessee.
6. WHO PROVIDES THE HOOKUP?
Connection and disconnection are done by plant personnel or a local boiler shop. This is Lessee's responsibility.
7. WHO PROVIDES THE START-UP?
Carey Boiler Works provides this service at an additional charge unless otherwise negotiated.
8. WHAT ABOUT FUEL AND POWER?
These are supplied by Lessee.
9. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR BOILER WATER CHEMICAL TREATMENT?
It is the responsibility of the Lessee to implement a boiler water chemical treatment program for the rental equipment regardless of length of boiler rental. Removal of any scale that might develop during operation or damage that may occur is the responsibility of the lessee.
10. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FURNISHING THE PROPANE?
It is the Lessee’s responsibility to furnish the propane to fire the boilers.
11. HOW SHOULD BOILERS BE OPERATED?
Boilers should be operated by competent engineers and in accordance with the Lessor's Instruction Book. Any occurrence or damage other than normal wear and tear is the responsibility of the Lessee. Generally boiler operators on site can handle our automatic boilers along with their existing duties.
12. HOW ABOUT DISCONNECTING?
Plant or local boiler shop personnel perform this work. It is the financial responsibility of the Lessee.
13. HOW IS BOILER TO BE PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT?
A Boiler should be thoroughly drained, boiler feed system should be thoroughly drained and all areas where water could be drained should be drained. All anti-freeze should be introduced into those areas to protect the equipment from freeze-ups during the winter. This work is the responsibility of the Lessee. Failure to prepare equipment for shipment as instructed in Boiler Pick-up Release Form could result in additional charges to Lessee.
14. WHAT ABOUT PARTS THAT FAIL DURING OPERATION?
Parts that fail due to normal wear and tear will be supplied by Carey Boiler Works. Labor is the responsibility of the Lessee. All failed parts are to be returned to Carey Boiler Works within ten (10) days for inspection. Failure to return defective parts will result in an invoice being generated for the part plus shipping. Lessee is responsible for return freight of defective parts to Carey Boiler Works.
